Recapitulando.... tive q atualizar meu app q ficou mto tempo parado.
Pisquei na hora, mas... td bem, minha ex-agente disse q my English is not TOO BAD and I don't need to worry about it. So, that's fine.
Minha cartinha. P.S.: N vale reparar no meu inglês, hein?! rsrsrsrsrsrs
Dear Host Family,
My name is Maíra, but friends call me Mai. I am 24 years old and I live with my parents Maria (54) and Henrique (56). I have three sisters Luiza (34), Laíla (25), Juliana (22) and three cute nephews Kayodê (11), Aiana (10), Dandara (3). They're my biggest loves. I have been helped to take care of them since they were born. I live in Salvador-BA in Brazil, my city is very warm and it has many beautiful beaches, wonderful places to visit, delicious typical foods and an interesting historic center.
Continuous to talk about me, I enjoy reading good books, technology devices, traveling, playing games and cards, going to the park, beach, movie, theater. I like to create, to draw, to walk, to surf on the net and to meet friends. My family and I usually go out to eat, to travel on vocations and to arrange meetings with my relatives into my grandparents' house. We're a huge and very closed family. So, when we meet us, it becomes a great party and I have lots of fun. Usually, I also invite my nephews to go to the park, movie, to play games. We always spend a lot of time together and I enjoy every moment. I believe that the reciprocal is true. Recently, Aiana, the middle's one, chose me to be her Godmother and I'm very proud for it.
I’m graduated in Social Communication with emphasis in Advertising. I finished my college at the end of last year and currently I'm working as a publicist, creating and editing print advertisements. I chose this profession because I have a strong identification with communication, besides with, I can use all my creativity while in work. In fact, I use it in everything that I do and it helps me a lot, especially, with children because they normally enjoy the activities I prepare to them. I've also been worked as a volunteer, at one NGO, tracking for researches and information about progress of the public policies geared to children and teenager. When I come back to Brazil I intend to continue my studies towards my master degree in Communication and Contemporary Culture. I've already begun to study after I’ve been approved as a especial student and I wish continuous it later because I love to study about new technologies of communication, their possibilities, and their effects in our society.
I decided to be an Au pair, because I love children, I have a long experience with them, and I always dreamed to travel abroad and meet many kinds of cultures. I want to speak, fluently, at least 3 languages than the mine. English is the first. I took care of the son of my friend (Marcos, 6-8 year-old), the daughter of a former neighbor (Brenda, 3-5 year-old), and recently I took care of my two actual neighbor (Daniela, 1 year-old) and ( Aline, 8 year-old) while thier parents were working. I used to take them to school, prepare meals, help them with homework, apply educational activities to develop speech and the motor coordination. I also read to them, played, made bath and put them to sleep. We did many things together, however, what I most liked to do was telling stories, teaching new things, and bring them to practice leisure's activities. They like me so much. I believe it’s because I'm at the same time caring, calm, fun, and able to keep the things on control.
Finally, I hope that to be an Au pair gives me the opportunity to become more independent, mature, improve my English and learn about a new culture by living with a warm and special family which I'll have a huge pleasure to become part.
